An Introduction to the Adventure Tech APCU
The Advanced Protective Combat Uniform, or APCU for short, is a world class layering system for tactical professionals. It consists of seven highly technical layers, which can be combined to protect the operator from nearly any environmental conditions. From hot, windy desert to the sub-zero arctic, the system is capable of many diverse applications. It not only protects against environmental dangers, but cradles the wearer in comfort using next generation fabrics. It was designed as a superior alternative to layering systems such as Gen 2 and Gen 3 ECWCS, by a team with first hand experience in hostile, extreme environments.
The APCU system by Adventure Tech is packed with the next generation of technical fabrics. It's light, compactable, durable, and ultra functional. A sampling of the technical features you'll find layered in the APCU include anti-microbial properties, static dissipation, Schoeller Nanosphere®, and battle tested fabrics such as Gore-Tex®. All of the APCU components, from the fabric production through construction, are 100% made in the USA.
The seven layers start at the next-to-skin base layer and progress all the way to insulated outerwear. As a system, the APCU has been engineered as a complete solution with advanced technologies and features designed to compliment and enhance each other.
Levels 1 & 2 Baselayer Tops & Bottoms
The Adventure Tech carbon baselayer top and bottom are designed to be the first line of defense against odor and sweat. Body-mapping technology has further enabled Adventure Tech to reduce sweat and hotspots with seamless, super-breathable panels. With X-Static® silver fiber this baselayer is the utmost in technology and performance.
Activated carbon embedded within the Baselayer fiber pulls moisture away from the skin, improving the perspiration process, and brings it to the fabric surface for rapid evaporation.
Two weights are available, lightweight for warm to cool operations, as well as midweight for cold to extreme cold layering.

Level 3 Power Stretch Pullover
The Adventure Tech Polartec Power Stretch® Pullover is a must-have piece of gear for any climate range below 40°F. Polartec Power Stretch® features "touch points" on the inner surface of the fabric which draws off sweat. This fabric has outstanding warmth to weight ratio, with an incredibly versatile temperature range.
The two-way zipper allows the operator to ventilate the pullover without unzipping collar. Both zippers feature the popular Adventure Tech branded zip pulls.

Level 4 Windshirt
Constructed from high tenacity ripstop nylon, the Level 4 Windshirt has a highly water repellent DWR treatment. Amazingly compactable, this Windshirt offers great environmental protection in a super-lightweight package.

Level 5 Softshell Jacket & Pants
The Level 5 Softshell components are constructed with 4-way stretch fabric. It's an amazingly warm, quiet, breathable fabric that wicks moisture away from your body. The fabric is highly abrasion resistant to withstand even the harshest operational theatres. The fabric is taken to the next level of functionality with a Schoeller Nanosphere® treatment. This amazing treatment repels dirt, oil, water, and anything else you may throw at it.
The jacket offers two sleeve pockets and two chest pockets, designed with the needs of the tactical operator in mind. The YKK zippers feature Adventure Tech branded zipper pulls.
The pants are constructed with the same fabric as the jacket. Intelligent styling and design offers a wide variety of operational and recreational uses. Slant hand pockets, thigh cargo pockets, and a comfortable elastic waist with belt loops.

Level 6 Gore-Tex® Rain Jacket & Pants
Outstanding protection and the lightest Gore-Tex® technical rain system in the industry. At less than 1 lb., the ultra light jacket represents breakthrough performance and design. The pants feature a simple and utilitarian design, built to function flawlessly in "fast and light" operator mode.

Level 7 Insulated Parka & Pants
Level 7 will keep you protected in the harshest and coldest conditions imaginable. The exclusive X-Static® lining in these garments increases the thermal efficiency, as well as dissipating static charge and eliminating odors. The Parka has two sleeve pockets, two hand warmer pockets, and two mesh inner pockets. The pants feature full separating side zips for easy donning and doffing, and an extended back for added warmth. The closure on the cuff is Velcro®.
